35 years of Apple.
One person who answers the phone.
Rick has been opening Macs and fixing them since 1991. He's seen every chip generation, every design pivot, and every headline crisis Apple has had. When you call (740) 223-5530, he picks up. When you chat on the site, he reads it. When you bring in your broken Mac, he's the one who touches it.
The story
Rick starts fixing Macs — the Mac IIsi era. Floppy drives, SCSI cables, the whole thing.
Moves into retail Mac sales alongside repair work. Early days of iPod and the PowerBook era.
Pivots fully to refurbished Apple hardware. First warehouse in central Ohio.
Opens the Marion, Ohio flagship at 731 E Center St. First retail lease, real storefront.
M1 chips arrive. Refurbished demand triples — Rick doubles stock and expands the team.
LuxuriousComputers goes national — shipping coast to coast, backed by a 1-year whole-machine warranty.
What we believe about refurbished Macs
A refurbished M-series Mac is not a compromised Mac. Apple's M1, M2, and M3 chips have no moving parts. There's nothing to wear out the way a spinning hard drive does. A 2020 MacBook Air in good condition will run exactly as fast as the day it was made.
The markup on new Apple hardware funds a lot of things that have nothing to do with the hardware you're getting. Our margin is leaner. Our cost is real. You pay for the machine, not the branding exercise.
We warranty every device for a year because we mean it. Not because a lawyer told us to put it in fine print — but because we sell real Apple hardware and we're confident enough to stand behind it ourselves. If it breaks on its own, we make it right.
If your Mac breaks on its own in the first year, you reach out and we make it right. No RMA runaround. No two-week wait. We're not a national call center. We're in Marion, Ohio, and Rick is the one who answers.
