Apple rejected your water-damaged Mac.
We'll give you real money for it.
Apple's trade-in program auto-declines any Mac with moisture exposure — zero credit, no exceptions. We buy water-damaged MacBooks every week, quoting from real parts value: logic board, screen, and battery. Even dead or corroded units earn store credit.
What condition is it in?
Be honest — we pay for broken ones too.

How it works
Tell us what happened
Use the trade-in calculator, text Rick a photo at (740) 223-5530, or walk in. Tell us the model and how the water got in — spill, rain, submerged, etc.
Bench quote in minutes
We assess logic board, screen, and battery on the bench. Even a fully dead water-damaged Mac has salvageable components we pay for.
Ship free or walk in
We send a prepaid label if you're outside Marion. Walk in to 731 E Center St #200, Tue–Sat 10am–7pm. Free return shipping if we can't honor the quote.
Same-day credit
Store credit applies instantly toward any Mac in the shop. Most customers walk out with a working M1 or M2 MacBook Air the same day they bring in their water-damaged one.
What our techs look at
Logic board condition. The biggest value driver. Apple's M-series chips are tightly sealed; many survive brief water exposure. We test continuity, boot attempts, and corrosion spread under a microscope before quoting.
Display panel. MacBook screens are expensive — $300–$600 for a Retina panel. A water-damaged Mac with an intact screen earns significantly more than a dead one.
Battery pack. Lithium cells don't love water but often survive brief exposure. We test capacity and cycle count. A healthy battery adds $30–$60 to the quote.
Keyboard and Touch ID. Water kills keyboards first. If yours still types, that adds value. A dead keyboard is still a parts win.
Before you bring it in — what not to do
- ✕Don't put it in rice. Rice is a myth. It absorbs almost no moisture and delays real assessment while corrosion spreads across the logic board.
- ✕Don't keep trying to boot it. Repeated power-on attempts short out components that are still wet or corroded.
- ✕Don't take it to Apple first. They'll detect moisture, decline the trade-in, and charge you a repair estimate that exceeds the machine's value.
- ✓Bring it as-is, as fast as possible. The faster we assess, the more components we can save — and the higher the quote.

Frequently asked questions
Do you buy water-damaged MacBooks?
Yes. Water damage is the most common reason Apple and trade-in programs decline a Mac, but we buy water-damaged MacBooks every week. We quote from the value of surviving parts — logic board, screen, and battery — rather than rejecting outright.
How much will I get for my water-damaged MacBook?
It depends on the model and what survived. An M2 MacBook Air that still powers on after a water spill typically earns $180–$280 in store credit. A dead M1 Pro from water damage earns $90–$160. A fully corroded unit earns $35–$80. Newer M-series chips are sealed better and survive more moisture.
What if my MacBook was completely submerged?
Even heavily water-damaged Macs have parts value. M-series logic boards are partially recoverable, screens often survive complete submersion intact, and batteries are usually salvageable. Bring it in — we'll assess it regardless.
Should I dry out my MacBook before bringing it in?
Don't put it in rice — that's a myth that delays assessment while corrosion spreads. Don't repeatedly try to turn it on either. Bring it as-is, as quickly as possible. Time is the enemy of water-damaged electronics; the faster we assess it, the more we can offer.
Will Apple take a water-damaged MacBook?
No. Apple's trade-in program uses a LiquidSense indicator inside every Mac to detect moisture exposure. One positive indicator means zero trade-in value — no quote, no credit, nothing. We're one of the few places in central Ohio that actively buys water-damaged Apple hardware.
Can I trade a water-damaged Mac toward a working refurbished one?
Yes — that's exactly what we do most often. You bring in your water-damaged MacBook, we quote it on the spot, and you apply that credit toward any Mac in the shop. You leave with a fully working machine, usually the same day.
What is the difference between water damage and liquid damage?
For our purposes: nothing. Whether it's water, coffee, juice, or rain, we assess the same way — looking at which components survived and quoting from parts value. The substance matters less than the component condition.
Your water-damaged Mac is worth more than you think.
